Murder Case May Not Go to Trial Until 2013...Healthy Holiday Foods

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Here are some of the stories we're following today:

A high profile murder case may not go to trial for more than another year. 22-year-old Ricardo Strozier was in court Thursday where lawyers said it could be 2013 before both sides are ready. Strozier's accused in the 2010 death of local, radio personality Heath Jackson. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty. Strozier's attorneys say they need more time to look at the documents.

We have more details in the murder of a young, Canton girl. Suspect Ryan Brunn made his first court appearance Thursday. He was wearing a bullet proof vest. Brunn is charged with the death of Jorelys Rivera. Police say her mouth was duct taped, and her hands and feet were bound with plastic ties.  Authorities say Brunn has no known criminal history, and his family doubts he's connected to the crime.
