Snakes stop Surge

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - Jesse Cole and Orrin Hergott each scored twice and Ian Vigier had 39 saves to lead the Columbus Cottonmouths past the Mississippi Surge 5-2 on Saturday night at the Columbus Civic Center.

Cole and Hergott each scored in the first period to stake the Snakes to a 2-0 lead.

Vigier had a spectacular first period, turning away all 19 Surge shots.

The Cottonmouths play on the road next weekend, at Pensacola on Friday night and in Biloxi against the Surge on Saturday night.
