Auburn RB Michael Dyer suspended for Chick-fil-A Bowl

AUBURN, AL (WTVM) - According to multiple sources,  Auburn running back Michael Dyer has been suspended for their Chick-fil-A Bowl matchup with Virginia for breaking an unspecified team rule.

Dyer was the second leading rusher in the SEC behind Heisman finalist Trent Richardson.

He gained 1,242 yards on the ground, scoring 10 touchdowns.  He had 600 plus yard games, and topped 150 yards in four games.

Dyer is the only player in Auburn history to top a thousand yards in each of his first two seasons.

He was the offensive MVP in last year's BCS Championship game.

That means Onterio McCalebb and freshman Tre Mason will have to carry the load against the Virginia cavaliers in the New Year's Eve bowl game in Atlanta.
