Mayor Tomlinson to nominate Robert Wright for Crime Prevention Board

COLUMBUS, GA (WXTX) – Columbus Mayor Teresa Tomlinson has announced a nominee to chair the crime prevention board.

Tomlinson nominated Doctor Robert Wright to fill the spot vacated by the former board chairman Mike Gaymon.

Doctor Wright is from Columbus and has previously served three terms as a Columbus City Councilor.

The crime prevention office was the brainchild of former Mayor Jim Wetherington.

The current director is Seth Brown.

Wright's nomination will be presented at Tuesday's city council meeting.
