Editorial: No more bickering

EDITORIAL: My hope for 2012 is that we as a nation, a state, a community and as an individual can be more civil and learn to respect and honor others.

The level of bickering and self-centered rhetoric has reached a new high in our country.

As we get more and more crowded in our world it is incumbent upon all of us to honor the rights of others, to allow everyone to practice their own cultures and to make way for unfamiliar traditions. It can't always be about us as individuals.

Our country was built on inclusion, caring for others and making a better life for all. I wish for all of you a very blessed and prosperous New Year.

I know that each of you will take the time to help someone be better fed, better educated and informed in the new year and you will take the time to listen to and understand others as well.
