The Alabama football team practiced for two hours in shells on Tuesday afternoon at the Hank Crisp Indoor Practice Facility. The Crimson Tide is now one day away from leaving for New Orleans for its onsite preparations for the 2012 BCS National Championship Game.
"We have been able to use this time to get back into game shape and rest since the Auburn game and I think that has really helped us out," Alabama linebacker Courtney Upshaw said. "There have been no regrets this season and hopefully we can finish it off with a national championship."
The two-hour session was the first of 2012 as Alabama returned to work after taking New Year's Day off. The Tide will practice Wednesday morning before taking off for New Orleans where it will practice four times before kicking off against LSU.
The BCS National Championship game will be held on Monday, January 9, 2012, at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, La. Kickoff is slated for 7:30 p.m. CT on ESPN with Brent Musberger on play-by-play, Kirk Herbstreit as the color analyst and Tom Rinaldi and Erin Andrews reporting from the sideline.
