Homeless seek shelter as temperatures drop

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) –  With temperatures dropping below freezing temperatures, local homeless shelters are working to make sure those in need are safe.

The Salvation Army Emergency Shelter for men on 2nd Avenue in Columbus says they have seen an increase of those in needs lately, but a drop in temperatures draws even more crowds.

Reverend Michael Anthony David says, with the cold temperatures they will try to accommodate as many men as possible, even if means pulling out extra mattresses.
