Man charged on home-grown pot operation

HARRIS COUNTY, GA (WTVM) – Harris County deputies are known to have their eyes open and on the lookout for evidence of criminal behavior.

Chris Brown, 49, was taken into custody after a sheriff's deputy smelled marijuana while attempting to serve a civil paper.

More deputies arrived later and found the house was set up as a green house for manufacturing marijuana.

Also inside, authorities found the drug packaged in sandwich bags - with the particular type of marijuana selling for 300 an ounce.

The total street value was estimated in the several thousands.

Brown has been charged and is currently being held in the Harris County Jail.
