EDITORIAL:  We recently received the results from the November rating period.

That's a four week period when the Neilsen Company sends diaries to a select number of households to measure television viewing in our market, which includes 12 counties in Georgia and 4 in Alabama.

I am proud to say News Leader 9 was, by far, once again the news leader in the Columbus/Opelika market. Our morning newscasts lead our nearest competitor by a 5 to 1 margin. 5:00 pm news outpaced the number two station by a margin of almost 6 to 1. At 6:00 pm the margin was more than 4 to 1 and at 11 pm the audience margin was 3 to 1.

I want to sincerely thank you for supporting our great news team and for being loyal fans of News Leader 9.

I am proud of our team and I pledge to you they will continue to serve you and to make your needs their top priority.

I hope you all have a great 2012 and I hope you will continue to communicate with all of us at WTVM so we can serve even better in the year to come.
