COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – A portion of the RiverWalk in Columbus is still closed for construction after the collapse from work on the whitewater course.
Gravel has been laid and now Uptown Columbus is waiting on information to see how much longer the gap will remain open.
"We are waiting on the final construction documents and getting pricing back," says Richard Bishop. "Once we get all that we'll get with the city and try to coordinate when we'll do the reconstruction."
Uptown Columbus leaders say they don't expect the documents to take long to come back.
Bishop also tells News Leader 9, they are still working on the whitewater course in the river and have to maintain the bypass so they want to make sure they do not cause any additional damage.
