Knology offers $25K reward for information and arrests in cable thefts

From Knology

LANETT, AL -  Knology, Inc., is currently offering a reward of up to $25,000 through Greater Valley Area Crime Stoppers for information leading to the felony arrest and conviction of the individual or individuals responsible for the recent theft of approximately 400 feet of copper cable.

On Friday, Jan. 13, between the hours of midnight and 6 a.m., an unknown person or persons cut and removed the span of copper telephone cable belonging to Knology from telephone poles near the Lanett Mill.

The theft disrupted service to hundreds of residential customers and some commercial customers. All service was restored within 24 hours.

"Along with Knology incurring charges to replace the stolen materials, this felony theft caused many Knology customers to lose service in their homes and businesses," says Jason Griggs, security and fraud coordinator for Knology. "We take service disruptions very seriously, and will prosecute the offenders to the full extent of the law."

If you have any information pertaining to Knology's recent cable theft, please contact the Crime Stoppers tip line at (334) 756-5200.
