Muscogee Co. schools earn high state honors

COLUMBUS, GA - More than 300 schools across Georgia earn awards for improvements in student achievement from the Governor's Office of Student Achievement (GOSA). Four awards go to three schools in the Muscogee County School District.

Under the Single Statewide Accountability System (SSAS), Britt David, Early College Academy and Columbus High School earned the Platinum Award for High Performance on state assessments. Veterans Memorial Middle School won the Gold Award for Greatest Gains. Early College Academy also earned the Silver Award for Greatest Gains.

The Governor's Office of Student Achievement provides accountability for all of Georgia's education system from pre-kindergarten to post-secondary to drive improvement in student achievement and school completion through meaningful, transparent and objective analysis and communication of statewide data.
