Police seek robbery suspect with pink gun

OPELIKA, AL (WTVM) – Opelika police are searching for a suspect who used a pink semi-automatic handgun to try and rob the Big Cat fuels store on Second Avenue.

Detectives say around 9 pm Wednesday night a black male, wearing a bandana over his face asked the clerk for a pack of cigarettes, then pulled out the pink handgun and demanded money.

The cashier told police the suspect pulled the trigger, but the gun did not fire.

The clerk activated the business alarm and the suspect ran away.

Police are still looking for the man and are trying to determine if the gun was real or just a toy.

Investigators have surveillance video but have not released it.
