Blake Shelton concert to go on as scheduled

COLUMBUS, GA (WXTX) – The Blake Shelton concert at the Columbus Civic Center will go on next Friday night as scheduled.

Shelton's tour was suspended after his father died earlier this week. Several tour dates have been suspended but the tour website still lists the Columbus concert.

Civic Center Director Ross Horner told FOX 54 Thursday that ticket holders should not worry and the concert is still going to happen.

"Our hearts go out to him and like a true professional he has taken a hiatus, but he is returning to Columbus for our show," says Horner. "He is hoping Columbus shows up for it and provides him with a little catharsis as he gets back up on stage."

Horner says this concert is one of many of its type to come.  In March, Lady Antebellum will be at the Civic Center.

The tickets for the show are expected to sell out.
