Three men charged with attempting to sell stolen copper

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

Three men are in jail Monday after police say they attempted to sell stolen copper at ABC Metal Recycling located on Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard in Columbus.

According to police reports, the manager of the business contacted police after Tommy Gary, 48, sold the business copper from a stolen air conditioning unit. Gary was arrested and charged with theft by deception.

Just an hour later, police were called back to the business after two men were seen driving a pick-up truck to ABC Metal carrying a refrigerator and stove that were reported stolen. The two men, Aundray Robinson, 53, and Anthony Robinson, 52, had already sold the items for 93, but police were able to arrest the on them scene. They are also charged with theft by deception.
