EDITORIAL: Last week the Auburn Trustee Selection Committee met and selected the candidates to be interviewed for the nine trustee slots available.

They selected 35 finalists from a total of 170 persons were nominated and completed the questionnaire process.  There were a couple of surprises in the final list.

Surprises because at least two names represent the old problems that existed for many years on the board, folks with too many current attachments to the old regime. We think it is time to move on and add some new, positive energetic people to the board of trustees, shed the problems that have kept Auburn from being as great an institution as it can be.

Interviews will occur on Jan. 25 and Jan. 30 with final selections to be made in early February so we need to let the Governor hear from us about how we feel about trustee members and hold him accountable to lead the University into a more positive future.
