Sunday alcohol sales to be on Columbus ballot in November

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – Voters in Columbus will soon have the option of allowing Sunday alcohol sales.

Tuesday night during a city council meeting, members voted to let residents decide if they want to allow Sunday sales.

Nearly a year ago lawmakers in Georgia passed a bill into law that allows communities to vote in favor or against the sale of alcohol.

A city vote will be on ballots on November 6 and if passed, sales will start on December 2.
