Auburn, AL (WXTX) – The Auburn superintendent search has narrowed to three candidates.
Doctor Karen Delano will be meeting with business leaders, parents and teachers to discuss her vision for Auburn city schools this week.
She has served as Vestavia Hills assistant school superintendent for 12 years, but Doctor Delano says her education began in Auburn.
"Auburn has always been a part of my life, I went to Cary Woods Elementary, went to Auburn High School, I have three degrees from Auburn University. It's like the Auburn Creed says, 'I believe in Auburn and love it," says Delona.
She says one of her strengths is collecting and analyzing large amounts of data, then pairing it with student, teacher and parent input to enhance a child's education.
Wednesday night the public is invited to Auburn Performing Arts Center to meet Doctor Delano.
The other two candidates, Doctor Pam Henson of Baldwin County and Doctor Dennis Veronese of Auburn, will be meeting the public in the next two weeks.
