CHATTAHOOCHEE COUNTY, GA (WTVM) -
The Chattahoochee Sheriff's Office has arrested two people and seized a large amount of marijuana following a Thursday morning drug bust.
Deputies, who were assisted by the Richland Police Department, served a narcotics search warrant at 229 McNaughton Street in Cusseta at the Briarwood Village Apartments around 5:00am.
There they found $2,000 in cash, a firearm, numerous televisions and electronics, and one pound of marijuana, equaling $2,500 street value.
They arrested 27-year-old Robert Turner and charged him with possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of marijuana near a housing authority, possession of a drug related object, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, aggravated assault on a peace officer, and pointing a pistol at another.
Georgeshia Embry, a 21-year-old woman inside the residence, was also arrested and charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of marijuana near a housing project and possession of a drug related object.
Turner and Embry are being held in the Chattahoochee County Jail.
