The 2012 Miss Alabama U.S.A. was crowned this weekend and it turns out, she is a local girl. Phenix City resident Katherine Webb was crowned with the honor Saturday in Montgomery.
Webb graduated from Northside High School in 2007 and then moved to Phenix City. After graduating from Auburn University, she competed in pageants all the way up to win Miss Alabama U.S.A.
She stopped by the station to tell us about her crowning moment, "I was just like oh my goodness this is for real and my life is forever changed. It's just wonderful."
Katherine Webb will now spend the next few months making public appearances and preparing for the Miss U.S.A. Pageant in June.
The Miss Teen Alabama U.S.A., Peyton Brown, is also a local girl. She is from Barbour County.
