2012 SPRING SEASON
West GA Dixie Baseball
13 -19 year olds
NOTE: OPENING DAY HAS BEEN MOVED TO MARCH 10TH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
West GA Dixie Baseball is celebrating its 2012 season as a new league in Columbus. The registration period for the 2012 baseball season will begin in December and run through March. We are looking forward to your participation in our league. The league is located behind Wal-Mart on Airport Thruway, known as the
Dixie Baseball Complex.
13-14 year olds will play together on a smaller field to help develop their bodies and arms. The field dimensions will be 80' bases and 54' pitching distance to home plate. This will allow an intermediate step before hitting the regulation high school field.
15 – 19 year olds will play on high school regulation fields at Dixie.
13–19 year olds will play on teams that consist of their respective schools and a schedule that will allow you to play for trophies that will go back to the school plus individual player's awards. By playing under the Dixie umbrella this will also allow for All-Star play later in the summer.
WE WILL INTRODUCE TOURNMENT BALL DURING JANUARY AND FEBRUARY AND THROUGHOUT THE SEASON.
All players in Tri-county area are welcome. As long as you do not have Dixie Baseball in your area or are assigned to an area, you are free to play with West GA Dixie Baseball League. If there are not enough players within the friends of your school to form a team, we will place you on another team with openings. You need a minimum of 10 players and a maximum of 15.
For your convenience we have attached the league's registration form. Please complete the form and bring it, along with your birth certificate and proof of address to registration. Registration for Dixie Boys will be held on the dates indicated below. The total registration fee is $75 (This includes registration. Uniforms will be extra maxing out at $75.00). The age determination date is as of May 1, 2012.
Ages 15-19 can wear your school colors or uniform and registration will be $50.00
Sign-up dates: If you plan on playing tournament ball starting in January, you can go on line at http://www.westgadixiebaseball.com to register and sign up. Plus also look for the dates of registration if you would like to register at the field. You can also pay your registration fee on PayPal.
If you are interested in participating as a Board Member or Manager/Coach please contact us. We are always looking for volunteers to be a positive force in developing our players into community leaders.
