PHENIX CITY, AL (WXTX) – A former educator arrested on charges of enticing a child has been completely cleared by a Lee County grand jury.
A grand jury in Lee County has cleared 78-year-old Charles Fessenden of any criminal conduct regarding allegations made by a female student at Glenwood School where he was working as a substitute teacher.
The grand jury determined insufficient evidence existed to support the alleged victim's allegations.
Fessender, who is the father of Muscogee County District Attorney Julia Slater, released a statement saying his arrest would have been adverted had the Phenix City police done a thorough investigation.
