COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM)- A local softball league slid home on
Saturday. The Columbus storm travel softball program celebrated the grand
opening of their new practice facility. The center is off of Jameson court in Columbus.
They celebrated with hotdog's,
hamburgers, and great music. One of the founders of the league
Patrick Dermoth says this move is right on time.
"We had a small
little tiny hole in the wall. And we had to move up. - had to step up so. It's
beautiful we couldn't have asked for anything better today. It's more about a
celebration for the kids giving them a home, place to play some softball and
get ready for the upcoming traveling ball season."
McDermoth says the league
started out with one team and has now grown to seven. They plan to add a few
much touches to the place and start practicing as soon as possible.
