COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -
A second man has been arrested following a 5-car crash that killed a Columbus man and injured several others.
Columbus police charged Kyle Ojeda, 27, with reckless conduct, furnishing alcohol to a minor and a violation for possessing dangerous drugs.
Ojeda was a passenger in a car that was driven by Fort Benning soldier Jacob Keller.
Keller, 20, was charged with vehicular homicide, reckless driving, and DUI.
Reports show Keller was driving a 2006 Ford Explorer at a high rate of speed and swerving in and out of traffic.
Keller's SUV struck an Oldsmobile Cutlass that was waiting to make a left turn. The Cutlass was pushed into oncoming traffic and hit by a Toyota Tundra.
Fifty-seven-year-old Willie Lawrence, a passenger in the Cutlass was partially ejected from the car and killed.
Keller's Explorer also struck a Ford F-150, fishtailed and crashed into Dodge Magnum. Seven people were injured in the multi-car crash.
Keller and Ojeda appeared in Recorder's Court Tuesday at 2:00pm. Police testified that both men were under the influence of liquor and nitrous oxide at the time of the crash.
Keller's bond was set at $56,400 and Ojeda's bond was set at $7,200.
