Roy Moore seeking his old position as chief justice

AUBURN, AL (WTVM) - Judge Roy Moore, known as the Ten Commandments judge, is seeking to regain his position as Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court.

Moore is running in the Republican primary on March 13.

Moore was removed as chief justice in 2003 by Alabama's court of the judiciary after refusing a federal court judge ordered him to remove a monument of the Ten Commandments Moore had placed in the state courthouse.

When asked if elected will he move the monument back, Moore answers, "No, because I think that will confuse the issue. It is not about the Ten Commandments on the rock or the stone or anything about that, it's about upholding the moral foundation of law and I will always do that., but to move the monument back it would confuse the public and issue and make it more about me."

Judge Moore says his forty plus years of legal experience and his understanding of both the Alabama and the United States Constitution makes him the most qualified candidate for chief justice.
