COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - News Leader 9 has new details in the case of a stolen Muscogee County school bus from Roberts Center on Thursday night.
According to Muscogee County School District officials an 8th grade student at Marshall Middle School has admitted to being on the stolen school bus Thursday night. Another student, believed to be a 6th grader, has also been implicated.
The students reportedly found the keys to the bus from a compartment hidden inside.
Police say the students took the bus a couple of blocks and, when they were en route back to the school, they crashed into two parked cars that hit two other cars.
Columbus detectives say if arrested these students could face theft by taking charges.
There is no word on if and when these students will be taken into custody.
