Scott named national Division II Player of the Week

COLUMBUS, Ga. – Cameron Scott has been selected as the National Player of the Week as announced by the web site on Wednesday.

Scott led Columbus State to a three-game sweep of Clark Atlanta, hitting .833 (10-for-12) with three home runs and 15 RBI. In the final two games of the series, Scott went 5-for-6 and 5-for-5, respectively.

In the middle game of the three-game set, the junior tied a Peach Belt Conference record as he drove in 10 runs and blasted two home runs including a grand slam. He finished the weekend with a slugging percentage of 1.833.

The junior was also selected as the PBC Player of the Week on Tuesday.

Columbus State will return to the diamond on Saturday, February 11 playing a doubleheader against Saint Leo at Ragsdale Field beginning at 1:00 p.m. ET. The final game of the weekend series with the Lions is on Sunday, also at 1:00 p.m.
