LANETT, AL (WXTX) - Lanett's former top criminal investigator has been indicted on felony and misdemeanor ethics violations.
Tracy Bandy's arrest comes after a three-month investigation by the Chambers County Drug Task Force, the DA's office and the FBI.
Investigators believe, while Bandy was working as a Lanett police lieutenant, he received personal gain for releasing identities of confidential informants and information relating to search warrants.
Investigators say his actions put drug informants and officers in danger.
Bandy has been released on bond.
No court date has been set.
