COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

One after another, people in Columbus are trading $2 for a chance at millions.  $325 million to be exact.  Georgia's Powerball jackpot is the largest since Georgia started selling tickets for the game.

Willie Dillard is a dedicated lottery player.

"Somebody wins the lotto and you've got to ask yourself, why not me?"

He says if he wins, he will take $202.9 million cash option.  It is also the highest in Powerball history.

"I normally play the same numbers all the time.  That's normally birthday numbers between me and my daughter.  I add those up and then play those numbers.  One day, you know, if you play the same numbers everyday, who knows," said Dillard.

Evelyn Brown likes to let the computer pick for her, but she planes to re-use those numbers.

"If I don't will this time, I'll play them over and over again until I do," said Brown.

That Georgia Lottery says that the odds of winning the Powerball jackpot prize are about 1 in 175 million.

That means I have a greater chance of getting struck by lightning.  The National Weather Service says those odds are about 1 in 1 million in a given year.

Still, Brown says she thinks she has a pretty good chance at the jackpot and would help her family and those in need with the money.

"Then, I would take my son on a nice long vacation and move out in the country and have a lot of land because I like the quiet peace of mind," said Brown.

However, some people, like Dillard, try to keep themselves in check.

"I guess I have a better chance of getting attacked by two polar bears in Columbus, Georgia on the same day before I win the lottery, but at least I'm looking at it realistically," said Dillard.

The Powerball drawing will be this Saturday night, and if no one wins that drawing, the numbers will keep increasing.
