The Muscogee County School District is taking one more step to protect your children from bullying.
The district is the first major district in Georgia to partner with KARMA (Kids Against Ridicule, Meanness and Aggression) a group that helps to bring awareness to bullying by just talking to your children.
They have visited 14 elementary schools and 8 middle schools in the last couple of weeks.
"One of the biggest things I stress with students is bullying is not about the bully. It's not about what the bully says or does trying to dissect what they meant. It's about the victim and how it makes them feel," says Jessica Brookshire.
Brookshire will be here for the next couple of weeks working with more schools.
She says she is seeing some students with depression and other problems due to bullying, but commends the school system for addressing the issues to be able to help these kids.
