AUBURN, AL - At Tuesday night's meeting, the Auburn City Board of Education approved Karen Teague Delano as its new superintendent.
Delano has served as Vestavia Hills assistant school superintendent for 12 years, but she says her education began in Auburn.
"Auburn has always been a part of my life, I went to Cary Woods Elementary, went to Auburn High School, I have three degrees from Auburn University. It's like the Auburn Creed says, 'I believe in Auburn and love it," says Delona.
She says one of her strengths is collecting and analyzing large amounts of data, then pairing it with student, teacher and parent input to enhance a child's education.
Delano will replace Terry Jenkins who announced his retirement.
