Man arrested for sexual battery of CSU student

COLUMBUS, GA (WXTX) - A man has been charged with the sexual battery of a female CSU student, university police said Thursday.

Dominic James Vidal, 25, was taken into custody on two counts of sexual battery and held at Muscogee County Jail as a suspect in two CSU main campus attacks.

According to university police, first incident happened Feb 1 when a female student reported that an unknown male came up behind her at about 12:50 pm outside Jordan Hall.

Thursday, another female student had been approached at about 9:00 a.m. by a man who grabbed her as she was walking toward Jordan Hall from an adjacent parking lot.

She yelled and he ran away but she was able to get his license plate number.

Officers found the van driven by Vidal and took him into custody where he admitted to the Feb 1 assault.
