Gilbert named women's first team All-PBC

Augusta – Dominique Gilbert has been selected to the women's basketball All-Peach Belt Conference First Team announced by the league office Tuesday afternoon.

Last season, Gilbert was a second team selection.

Gilbert has been a key reason to Columbus State's success this season as she is averaging 14.4 points per game and 9.3 rebounds per game. She is in the top-five in the PBC in both categories coming in at fifth and fourth, respectively.   The Albany native has posted 11 double-doubles this season.

She is shooting 46.2 percent from the field and has rejected 68 blocks, the second most in the Peach Belt Conference this season.

Her 68 blocks is also the most in a single-season by a Lady Cougar.

In her career, she has scored 747 points, the 17th most in CSU history while averaging 14.1 points per game, the sixth best mark ever at CSU.

Gilbert has also been one of the best rebounders to ever come through Columbus State as she is second all-time grabbing 9.6 boards a game. If that mark holds, it will be the 10th best rebounding average in the history of the Peach Belt Conference.

Her 118 blocks are the most in school history.

Columbus State will face off against UNC Pembroke in the Peach Belt Conference Quarterfinal round on Thursday night at 7:00 p.m. ET at the Lumpkin Center.
