OPELIKA, AL (WTVM) - A head on collision involving a logging truck has killed at least one person and sent four more to the hospital.
The accident happened late Friday afternoon near the old BF Goodrich plant on Highway 169 in Opelika.
Lee County Coroner Bill Harris confirmed 19-year old Javae Jemison of Opelika was ejected from the vehicle upon impact and killed instantly from multiple blunt force injuries.
The road was closed off for several hours and traffic was re-routed in order to clean up logs which were scattered across the road.
The accident remains under investigation by the Lee County Coroner's office and the Alabama State Troopers.
