COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

The Columbus Police Department needs the public's help locating a gunman who robbed a pizza restaurant Sunday afternoon.

Investigators say the gunman held up the Papa Johns located at 5870 Veterans Parkway, near Everything Musical.

The suspect is described as a white man between 40 to 50 years of age, about 6', having a thin build, dark hair to his ears and armed with a dark colored handgun.

He told the clerk to open the register and give him the money.  The clerk complied.

The suspect took the money and headed towards West Britt David.

Witnesses say the suspect was wearing dark colored pants, a white ball cap with a black border around the bill of the hat and a leather motorcycle jacket with a large zipper. The jacket had zippered pockets and four silver snaps near the collar. We are told he carried the gun inside his jacket pocket.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the suspect is asked to call the robbery/homicide department at 706-653-3400.
