Trial for former AU football player pushed back

AUBURN, AL (WXTX) - The trial of a former Auburn University football player has been pushed back to April.

Antonio Goodwin was slated to go to trial sometime this week on several counts of armed robbery, burglary and theft charges.

The district attorney tells News Leader 9 the trial was delayed when Goodwin's attorney filed three motions on Friday, including a request to have Goodwin undergo a mental evaluation.

Goodwin, Michael McNeil, Shaun Kitchens and Dakota Mosley were on Auburn University's National Championship team when they were arrested in March of last year after an alleged home invasion and armed robbery.
