
Dr. Turton completed his internship and residency in surgery at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Ga. He is board certified by the American Board of Surgeons and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons. He is also actively involved in the Southeastern Surgical Congress, the American Society of General Surgeons, and other professional organizations. He is past president of the Moretz Surgical Society and is the president-elect of the West Georgia Health medical staff. Dr. Turton established the bariatric surgery program at West Georgia Health in 2008 and serves as its medical director.
