Two men injured in two shootings

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

Columbus police say  a man was dropped off by car at the Medical Center in Columbus between 6:00 pm and 6:30 pm Monday.

The man was walking into the emergency room when police say he collapsed.  Medical personnel discovered the man had a gunshot wound to his stomach and took him straight to surgery.

Columbus police tell us he is out of surgery and is now in the intensive care unit in critical condition.

Columbus police say about five minutes after the first victim walked in, another Columbus man, Mason London III, walked in the emergency room door.

London told nurses he had been shot in the side.

London told investigators he was shot in the East Highland area of Columbus while talking with some friends outside.

Columbus police say he did not know the exact street where he was shot and was unable to identify or describe the person who shot him.

Police say London has been treated and released.

Columbus police have not determined if the two shootings are in any way related.
