Big crowds come out to Thunder in The Valley


The 15th annual Thunder in the Valley Air Show kicked off toa great start on Saturday.   

Fourteen-year old Kaitlin Horn says she loves coming to theair show every year because when she grows up she wants to join the Air Force.

"I like watching the air planes go up and do somerandom tricks. It's really fun to watch it."

Organizer Robert Kempt says this year event is packed fullof wonderful tricks, planes and attractions with lot of history.

"We have the Red Tail P-51 here. That's commemoratingthe Tuskegee Airman; we also have the Lockheed Electra that was used in themovie Ameila Earhart. We have a lot of traditional, historic air crafts alongwith modern high performance [air craft's]."

This event is great for the entire family. There areattractions in the air and on the ground.

"Everybody can come out there's a lot of history andthings to see. We're an alcohol free, tobacco free event. You don't have toworry about any lyrics that you don't want your children to hear. This is madefor the family," says Kempt.

He says this event is for everyone but it also doessomething good for Columbus.

"Everybody comes together. Truly a city event, an areawide event and any net proceeds at the end of it go to use charities in thearea."
