LAGRANGE, GA (WTVM) - A LaGrange woman is in jail after police say she stabbed a hotel clerk to death.
Friday night LaGrange police responded the Budget Inn at 100 Hill Street in reference to a possible robbery that was in progress. When they arrived they saw a woman running out the back door of the hotel lobby.
Police detained Taleshia Wynder, 22, and after discovering a significant amount of blood on her clothing, they began their investigation.
Then police discovered the victim, 64 year old Taraben Patel, who was suffering from several stab wounds. EMS attempted to render aid, but Patel died on the scene.
Wynder was questioned, and revealed she entered the hotel lobby, attempting to rob Taraben Patel, and stabbed the victim multiple times before trying to run.
Taleshia Wynder is charged with murder and criminal attempt robbery and is being held in the Troup County Jail.
