EDITORIAL:   Columbus State University and One Columbus present the inaugural regional Diversity conference: The challenge of diversity in Community Development. Race and ethnic origin, social class, religion, gender and sexuality and immigration issues are all real issues affecting the Columbus region.

The people as the foundation of our region confirm that valuing diversity is integral to our success. The joint Columbus State University One Columbus Regional Conference on Diversity is an initiative bringing together each and every segment of the Columbus community in an informative and thought provoking forum.

The event will demonstrate where we stand statistically within these issues and examine the challenges and confront our perspectives.

With diversity training expert Dr. Thee Smith, we will work together to promote a positive standpoint from which to diminish barriers in Columbus and the regional area and promote development in our community.

The forum begins March 22 at 7:00 pm and continues on March 23, 9: am-2:00 pm.

The forum will be held at the Cunningham Center on the campus at CSU and the public is invited. There is a $10 registration fee and that includes lunch on the 23rd.

Please join us for this important forum.
