Brittany Dionne is a native of "The Magic City", Birmingham, Alabama. She joined the News Leader 9 team as a general assignment reporter in November 2011; however, her love of law made her a perfect fit to become our primary legal reporter.
Brittany graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with dual communication degrees in Broadcast Journalism and Communication Management as well as a minor in Theatre.
While in school, she served as treasurer for The Society of Professional Journalist, performed in every capacity in front and behind the camera for Blazer News, and guarded the beautiful green and gold as captain of the Marching Blazers Color Guard. Brittany realized her calling to be a journalist the day she walked into the newsroom, as an intern, at ABC 33/40 in Birmingham, Alabama.
Brittany is excited to live and work in the Fountain City. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, lifting weights, and playing with her dog "Gizmo".
Brittany's favorite stories are community-based, feel good features. If you know of a great one or just want to chat, feel free to give her a shout!
