Tigers' Wright out for rest of spring practice

AUBURN, Ala. (WTVM) - Auburn defensive tackle Gabe Wright suffered a foot injury during Saturday's practice and will miss the remainder of the Tigers' spring workouts, head coach Gene Chizik announced on Monday.

Wright, a former Carver Tiger star, is expected to be ready for the beginning of fall practice in August.

Auburn is now extremely shorthanded on the defensive line for spring practice. Defensive tackle Ken Carter and defensive end Nosa Eguae were already sitting out the spring due to injury.

Returning starter Jeffrey Whitaker, along with sophomores Devaunte Sigler and Angelo Blackson, will likely pick up the slack and get increased reps in practice.
