National Cash Register or NCR held a ribbon cutting ceremony Wednesday morning at its second facility in Columbus' Technology Park.

The facility will open the beginning of May with at least 300 workers.

In 2009, NCR decided to make Columbus the home for their North American manufacturing hub.

The second facility will manufacture self-serviced point of sale machines in the 100,000 square foot building. These types of machines will be in hotels and restaurants, like Wendy's and Dunkin Donuts.

Columbus Mayor Teresa Tomlinson said this is the new era of manufacturing. "High tech, high paying jobs, no longer is it mill work necessarily, but computerized manufacturing jobs.  Those jobs pay very well and make a good living for the families of our community."

NCR says online it is at the center of a self-service revolution where it is poised to provide consumers fast and easy options.  NCR self service products are placed all over the world and handle over 200,000 transactions per minute.
