TYLER, TX (KLTV) -

***Severe thunderstorm watch until 5pm for Angelina, Cherokee, Gregg, Harrison, Nacogdoches, Panola, Rusk, Sabine, San Augustine, Shelby, and Smith Counties***

Scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop later this afternoon across East Texas as an upper air disturbance slides across the area.

As this storms move into East Texas there will be plenty of energy available so a few of these storms will be strong and possibly severe. The main threats with the storms that develop will be heavy rainfall, gusty winds, and small hail.

Right now this does not look like a wide spread severe weather outbreak but we will continue to watch this developing situation incase storms become stronger than expected. We will see another chance of strong storms late tomorrow into Wednesday morning. These storms will be associated with a cold front causing a squall line to develop.

The main severe weather threat with this round of storms will once again be strong gusty winds and hail. Once the front moves through early Wednesday, much drier air will move into East Texas setting the stage for a beautiful Easter Weekend.
