Crews monitor Columbus home for hot spots after early morning fire

Columbus fire officials are monitoring a home for hot spots after an early morning fire. The Battalion Chief on duty tells News Leader 9 the fire started around 4:30 a.m. A total of 3 units were called out to a home on Wildwood Avenue.

The owner of the home tells News Leader 9 he smelled smoke and was able to get out of the house in time. 

The home is a total loss.  Investigators are working to find the cause of the fire. News Leader 9 is following the story and will have more details beginning on News Leader 9 at Five.
