West Point to hold public meetings on stun guns

WEST POINT, GA (WTVM) - City officials in West Point say they plan to hold public meetings with residents before moving ahead with plans to equip police officers with stun guns.

City council there was set to vote this month on whether to allow officers to carry tasers.

Some West Point council members say the vote should be delayed to allow for information sessions for the public.

Officials say at least two listening sessions will be held before the vote, which has been delayed until May 14.
