EDITORIAL: Congratulations to our
hockey champion the Columbus Cottonmouths.
The Snakes rolled through
the playoffs never losing a game capping a perfect post-season with a sterling
3-to-1 win over the Pensacola Ice Flyers, as champs of the Southern Professional
Hockey League and winners of the President Cup. It's the team's third
championship.
Having a successful team
like the Cottonmouths in the Columbus area means more than just claim to the President's
Cup.
Their community
involvement and activities speak volumes with their efforts to help raise
hundreds of thousands of dollars for charities like the Children's Miracle Network.
They've also contributed
their financial and man-power support to help with food, blood and toy
drives just to name of a few of the dozens of great efforts to "give
back".
For all that we are especially grateful that
the Cottonmouth players, coaches and staff call Columbus home.
