Man shot during domestic argument in Lee County

VALLEY, AL (WTVM) - The Lee County Sheriff's Office is investigating a domestic argument that turned violent in the town of Beulah, Ala.

Tuesday night, Lee County investigators responded to Lee Road 275 in Beulah and found 43-year old William Kellum of Valley, Ala dead from a gunshot wound to the chest.

Investigators say Kellum was staying a small trailer next to his friend's home when the two men got into an argument and Kellum was shot.

Lee County Sheriff Jay Jones says the homeowner will be arrested and charged with murder as soon as he is released from the hospital on an unrelated medical condition.

In addition, Sheriff Jones says Kellum was a registered sex offender in Chambers County and was in violation of sex offender notification laws because he did not report to authorities that he had moved to the Lee County residence, where he was killed.
