A Look Ahead to 5 & 6

Good Friday evening to you! Here's what we are working on for WTVM news at 5 and 6 tonight:

Today marks the sad, one year anniversary of the killer tornadoes that ripped across the South, killing more than 250 in Alabama alone. We'll go LIVE from several locations for updates, including a prayer service in Tuscaloosa, with starts in a little more than an hour, and also to News Leader 9's Elizabeth White, with some amazing stories of survival.

We also have some surveillance video you'll want to see of an armed robbery at a convenience store in Russell County. We have more on the suspect seen with a rifle.

An East Alabama teacher is chosen one as of the top 12 in the country, and could go higher on that list. Hear how you can help him win it all.

Ever wonder what we do during commercial breaks? Now is your chance to find out. We're LIVE streaming from inside the studio again today, until 6:30pm ET. Go to to watch us behind the scenes and interact with us.

Tell your friends, then join us for these stories and more tonight at 5 and 6, and have a great weekend!

See ya then,

Jason Dennis
